Dear Editor:
According to the 1980 Census, slightly over 30% of the people in San Saba County were 60 years of age or older. The median age for the County was between 39 and 40 years. “Median age” is the halfway point of all ages in the County. Half of the people were approximately 40 years of age or above, and, half were below.
Sincerely yours, John M. Williams

The largest to be weighed in at San Saba Produce, it reached 114 pounds and had 9 points with a 19 1/4” spread. Ms. Steele didn’t qualify for the prizes offered in the Deer Round-Up Contest because she had failed to pre-register.
