    I continue to encourage you to take this current medical emergency seriously and to follow the recommendations of our President, our Governor, and the CDC. In the absence of an effective treatment or cure, the goal continues to be the reduction of the rapid spread of the Coronavirus to prevent overwhelming the medical infrastructure and to protect those vulnerable members of our community.

    PLEASE STAY CALM AND COMPLY!

    • Avoid Social Gatherings in groups of more than 10 people

    • Avoid Unnecessary Travel

    • Practice Social Distancing

    Above all else, let us treat each other with dignity, kindness, and compassion.

    Stay calm, stay safe at home, and maintain your sense of humor.

    I want to express my gratitude for the Health Care Workers and all the First Responders who daily put their own safety at risk for our benefit.

    Please remember, these challenging situations bring out either the best or the very worst in people. Please do not be fooled by unscrupulous individuals who make false promises seeking monetary gain, they are out there. Also, please do not experiment with any medications or chemicals that have not been prescribed by trusted medical providers, they can kill you.

    I am enclosing two photographs to show the transformation that took place in our community after the tragic loss of San Saba’s Lowe’s Supermarket. This Phoenix-like rebirth began with just a handshake between our own Albert Stowell and Lowe’s Regional Manager Alan Buxkemper, according to Albert, Jimmy Shook also played an important part. So, that was on Sunday the 22nd of March, and in less than five days crews from the City of San Saba and Lowe’s local and corporate staff amazed us and themselves with the grand opening of a relocated, but fully stocked Lowe’s. Here are the ‘hard to believe’ Before and After pictures. Mr. Alan Buxkemper is on the left and Mr. Shawn Pickrell, Lowe’s director of construction and facilities on the right. Mr. Pickrell added that we have much to look forward to, the new store that they are planning to build will be impressive.
