Commissioners’ Court holds regular meeting, October 12th

The San Saba Commissioners’ Court met for a regular meeting on Tuesday, October 12th, in the Commissioners’ Courtroom. Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order at 9:09 a.m. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation and led everyone in the pledges to the American flag and the Texas flag. Audience for Concerned Citizens For Public Comment:

There was discussion about updating and clarifying current subdivision rules. There is a Subdivision Committee with ongoing meetings. A coordinator who understands engineering roadways and the in’s and out’s of how subdivisions operate will be designated by the Commissioners' Court. Action Items:

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the Minutes of Previous Commissioners’ Court Meeting(s).

County Official and Departmental Reports:

2. County/District Clerk: Approve Subject to Audit or Reject Clerk’s Report:

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the District Clerk’s Report Subject to Audit.

3. County Treasurer: Approve Subject to Audit or Reject Treasurer’s Report:

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the County Treasurer’s Report Subject to Audit.

4. County Justice of the Peace: Approve Subject to Audit or Reject JP Report:

The following information was provided by Ms. Blossman:

Total: $14,172.80

Community Service/Jail Credit: $647.00

Total to the Community: $6,948.55

Small Claims and Civil: $284.00

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the JP Report Subject to Audit.

5. County Sheriff and Jail: Approve Subject to Audit or Reject Sheriff’s Jail Report:

Jail total was 354 with an average of 11.8%.

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the Sheriff’s Jail Report Subject to Audit. Special Action Items (and Non-Action Items):

Decision: The Court voted unanimously to approve 2022 San Saba County Resolution On Indigent Defense Grant Program.

4. Approve or Reject Interlocal Agreement For County Jail Functions Between Brown County and San Saba County:

Decision: This is to be tweaked by the County Attorney for clarity and sent back to Brown County.

5. Approve Conservation Work Contract For Terry Bray Pct. 4:

Decision: The Court voted unanimously to approve Conservation Work Contract For Terry Bray Pct. 4.

6. Discuss and Take Possible Action on COVID-19:

The following was reported during the meeting: As of the date of this meeting, there were drive-thru vaccine clinics scheduled at the Civic Center on October 21st and November 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, since this Commissioners’ Court meeting, the October 21st date has been cancelled, and another date is being worked out. You can use Sign-up Genius to sign up to receive the vaccine (or possibly a booster) at one of the vaccine clinics, or you can contact Marsha Hardy, Emergency management Coordinator, at 325-372-8570. (Please check Dr. Whiting’s article in this edition of San Saba News & Star for the most up-to-date information on these vaccine clinics as information is constantly changing.)

There will be testing at the EMS Station in San Saba on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 a.m. to noon when personnel is available. There will be a note on the door if they are not available.

MidCoast Clinic has now opened. They do testing in the afternoon; this is by appointment only.

7. Take Possible Action Concerning Burn Ban (Current Status: Burn Ban LIFTED As of 10-07-2021):

Decision: No further action was taken.

8. Approve or Reject Proposed Amendments and/or Line Item Transfers:

Nine line item transfers were presented.

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the Nine Proposed Line Item Transfers.

9. Approve or Reject Proposed Accounts Payable:

Decision: The Court unanimously approved the Proposed Accounts Payable.

10. Discuss Next Commissioners Court Date & Time:

The next Commissioners’ Court will be held Monday, October 25th, at 9:00 a.m. in the Commissioners' Courtroom.

11. Adjourn:

Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting at 10:14 a.m.
