Clovis Field Archeological Excavations

We are continuing to excavate in the Clovis Field 10 miles west of Goldthwaite. We now have 16 pits open and will be opening the Ground Penetrating Radar(GPR) targets in all of those pits on Saturday and Sunday, 11-13 & 14.

We continue to find points, flint flakes and burned rock where the Indians lived, cooked their food and made their arrowheads and tools. The GPR targets all show there is significant activity at these targets, and our goals is to find what the information is.

The Clovis point and Clovis core found in this field tell us that Indians were there dating back to 12,000 years ago. We are documenting all types of artifacts found, but our primary goal is to check out the GPR targets to see if any lead to additional Clovis artifacts.

Anyone wanting to participate can get directions to the site, times and seek additional information from <del5501@centex.net>.
