Surrounded by a strong support system and a sense of accomplishment, Lauren Roberson recently celebrated her graduation from BK Cosmo School of Cosmetology in Kerrville.

Lauren’s journey has been one of perseverance and growth. She entered care at Cherokee Home for Children in 2019, where she found stability, encouragement, and a community that would help shape her future. In May 2025, she reached an important milestone by graduating from Cherokee ISD, setting the stage for her next chapter.

That chapter came to fruition as Lauren successfully completed her cosmetology training. In addition to haircutting and hairstyling she earned certifications in lashes, nails and facials. Her graduation ceremony was a heartfelt celebration, attended by a large group of her Cherokee Home for Children family, all there to cheer her on and recognize her achievements. Lauren shared her gratitude and joy for the support she has received. “I have had the same loud and proud group following me and always yelling the loudest !!! I’m forever grateful to the Lord for blessing me with all the people in my life. Love you bunches!”

Lauren has already taken the next steps toward becoming a licensed beautician. She has applied to take her written exam and will soon complete her hands-on test. Upon passing both, she will officially earn her cosmetology license.

Looking ahead, Lauren hopes to begin working at a salon in Kerrville. Her ultimate dream is to one day become her own boss and own multiple salons.

We are so proud of Lauren’s faith, dedication and belief in herself and look forward to watching her continue to soar!
