Join the San Saba County Museum in celebrating Texas Independence Day on Saturday, March 5th, in Mill Pond Park from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. “A Night at the Museum” will include Campfire food, Bluegrass music, exhibits, and guest speakers. (You will want to be sure to check the schedule for the speakers, so you don’t miss their presentations.)
Larry Sanderson will be presenting a history of the San Saba Boxing Clubs. Larry, who is a native of San Saba, was a member of these clubs during the 1960s along with many other young men who are invited to attend and share their memories at the end of his talk. Larry and his wife, Dana, donated a boxing exhibit to the museum last year.
Lance Osborne will be presenting Turning Family Legends into Historical Entertainment. Do you have a family or local stories you have grown up with that you would like to be able to share? Lance may inspire you with some of his hints and secrets. He’s had stage plays produced in Austin and has written optioned screenplays, all historically based. He also has his first historical novel, Bold Crossings, set in central Texas.
