Catching up with the Commissioners

The San Saba County Commissioners met June 9, 2025, and the following items were approved:

• Exception to Subdivision Regulations requiring certain number of test wells per 200 acres.

• Runnells County Interlocal for housing inmates

• Lampasas County Interlocal for housing inmates

• Catalytic Converter Grant Program/Flock Systems

• Line-Item Transfers presented by County Treasurer Lois VanBeck

• Accounts Payable The following Departmental Reports were approved:

• County Clerk

• County Treasurer

• County Justice of the Peace – May 2025 Report: 

- Total: $30,507.50 

- Community Service/Jail Credit: $227.00 

- Total to the County: $17,644.83 

- Small Claims and Civil: $468.00

• County Sheriff and Jail: Jail book total was 446 with an average of 14.39 days.

Commissioners Court meeting May 27th meeting

The following Special Action and Non-Action Items were approved: 

• The bid from Bart Van Ruiten for the amount of $50,000.00 for the 1996 CAT 140H Motor Grader, Precinct 1

• Purchase of 2019 or Newer Motor Grader, Precinct 1 from Warren CAT for the amount of $182,653.52 with a 3-year lease purchase

• Renewal of the General Property and Risk Insurance from Baskin Insurance

• Line-item transfer and accounts payable Budget Workshop dates were set for June 9th and 23rd.

The Court all agreed that the Burn Ban would remain lifted.

The following upcoming Commissioners Court meetings will all be at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners’ Courtroom on the 2nd floor of the Courthouse: June 9, 2023 June 23, 2025 July 7, 2025 July 21, 2025.
