Catching up with the Commissioners

The San Saba County Commissioners Court met on Monday, February 10th. The following information from that meeting was provided by Candy Kokernot, County Judge’s Administrative Assistant.

The following items were approved at the meeting: 

• Previous meeting minutes

• County/District Clerk Report 

• County Treasurer Report

• County JP Report for January 2025: 

TOTAL: $16,258.00 

Community Service/ Jail Credit: $252.00 

Total to County: $10,128.47 

Small Claims and Civil: $358.00 

Special Action Items:

• There was a discussion on LEA (Local Enforcement Agency) minimum standards required by TCOLE (Texas Commissioner on Law Enforcement), September 1, 2025. No action was required.

• There was discussion on the proposal by San Saba Child Welfare Board to establish Angels Unaware within the Child Welfare Board. No action was required, just informing the Court.

• There was discussion on possible purchase/trade of equipment for Precinct 4 from Forrest McGregor. This item was tabled until March 10th.

• The Court decided to not reinstate the Burn ban after the temporary lifting expired on February 10th. Burn Ban remains lifted.

• There were no Line-Item transfers.

The following Special Action Items were approved:

• San Saba County Sheriff’s Office Racial Profiling Report to be submitted to TCLEDDS (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Data Distribution System)

• Order for San Saba County Investment Policy

• Resolution appointing County Treasurer to be the Custodian of all Investment Records

• Resolution to Authorize County Judge to determine whether circumstances no longer exist to prohibit outdoor burning

• Accounts Payable 

The next Commissioners Court date is Monday, February 24, 2025, at 9 a.m. in the Commissioners Courtroom on the second floor of the San Saba County Courthouse. The public is welcome and invited to attend.
