After Alderman Marcus Amthor opened up the meeting in prayer, he then led in the pledges to the American Flag and the Texas Flag.

Bridgett Macedo was awarded the Employee of the Month for October. Her supervisor, City Treasurer Charlene Lindsay, described Bridgett as an excellent and dedicated employee. Bridgett started through a school program; she has now been with the City for 10 years.

The City Council approved the Consent Agenda Items which included meeting minutes from September 12, 2023, payment of bills, three Resolutions waiving ordinance defining noise nuisances (1. October 14th at Mill Pond Park Gazebo, 2. October 15th at Mill Pond Park Gazebo, and 3. October 15th at Joe Ragsdale Pavilion), Resolution to close Wallace Street for the Annual Christmas Parade on December 9, 2023 at 6:30 p.m., and a Resolution to close the 300 and 400 blocks of East Wallace Street to Parking one hour prior to the Annual Christmas Parade on December 9, 2023.

The City Council also approved as presented the 2024 Holiday Schedule for the City of San Saba. Some days were switched around, but the number, 16 holidays, stayed the same.

The City Council appointed Alderman Marcus Amthor to the Board of Directors of the San Saba County Appraisal District for a two-year staggered term. Alderman Amthor is the current representative.

City Manager's Report:

Wayne Yarbrough has been promoted to Code Enforcement Officer. He is learning pretty fast and is doing an excellent job.

Looking at the end of October for the folks to be here to work on the Splash Pad.

Received a preliminary drawing on the DRP Project (sidewalks downtown). Environmental review can now start.

Updates on vehicles/equipment was given. Replaced two of the police vehicles, took them to auction.

Even though the Parks Department is short handed, the Christmas lights are going up.

Bruce Stewart is going to retire at the end of the year; will be looking for a replacement in the maintenance division.

Updates given on the upcoming eclipse on October 14th.

Health Center rented to Solaris has had trouble with the toilets, and the problems are being worked out.

The Rock Project 'Welcome to San Saba' turned out very nice. We have very talented guys who worked on that.

Texas DowntownAssociation has chosen San Saba Foundation as one of three finalists for a Partnership Award which is to be awarded at a conference later in the month.

Public Works update from Scott Glaze

Getting a generation put in place at the water plant; upgraded electrical boxes at the water plant for the new motor control. If this is another hard winter, we can still pump water.

Street Departments doing a great job filling up the holes where the pipelines are going in.
