March is closing out with a nice bit of rain. No big storm just some gentle rain falling. It is cloudy and cool. The Blue Bonnets are out in full bloom and so are some of the wild flowers. It is a good time to get out and drive around looking at the scenery.
April 5 will be Palm Sunday and next Sunday April 12 we will celebrate Easter.
Checked on some of the ones that are at home fighting their battle with cancer. Jack Danials is resting most of the time and eating very little which is to be expected. He is in no pain which is a very good thing and some of his family is always with him. His son Gene lives next door to him at the river and some of his girls came in from San Angelo to be with him. Lanell is there with him most of the time except when she has to return home to check on things and pay the bills.
Jerry Reavis has taken all of the chemo and now he is waiting to see what other type of treatment they will try. Charlene reported that he is doing very well at this time. Be sure and keep them in your prayers. There are also others that need prayer. Pete Henniger, Earl Ray Sutton, Phil B McCoury and his family.
The kids are at home doing all their school work while the virus is around. Have no reports of anyone in San Saba being stricken with it and hopefully there will be none.
It is a sad time for everyone. It reminds us what we had to go through in World War II with all the shortages that everyone had to endure. We made it through that and we will make it through this.
Even with the one and only grocery store burning things have been taken care of. Between the Dollar store and the temporary grocery store set up down town San Saba people are managing and of course the truck that comes in to the Civic Center and delivers food. The area Lowe’s stores have been very helpful to bring in supplies from their stores. The younger people are helping out the older ones getting their groceries for them so that they don’t have to get out and that let me tell you is a great help.
Happy birthday wishes goes out to Joshua Scroggins who will celebrate a birthday April 2, and to Kyle Keen, and Judy McCoy who will celebrate a birthday April 4, Carrie Wayne Keeney will celebrate a birthday April 7, and to Kyle Smith and Timber Rogers who will celebrate birthdays on April 8.
Congratulations go out to Jackie and Charlene Brister who will be celebrating their anniversary April 6, 2020.
