Glory be there has been reports of at least 4 inches of rain this past week and there maybe more to come. The river came up and is going back down. The catfish should really start to bite good for a while.

With all the rain it means get the lawn mowers out and tuned up, because the grass is growing by inches over night it seems. It is wonderful, no complains here!

Have you been counted on the census yet? There was one census paper at my gate. There is 3 different families who live beyond the gate and their homes are clearly visible from the gate. The gate is an electric gate with the code on the gate for anyone to see. All they had to do was punch in the number and the gate would open. Why they just left one census paper on the gate is a mystery, because the three houses are very visible from the gate. Makes you wonder how true the census really is and since they are being paid to contact people to be counted it make you wonder how many more rural homes are not being counted. They are being paid to take the census and they are ripping off the federal government by not doing the job they are paid to do.

It is some of our tax money that is being spent, so it's you the tax payer that is getting the raw deal.

Some young boys in a jeep are very lucky. They tried to cross the low water crossing coming from the State park and didn’t make it. Their jeep was swept down stream. One of the boys suffered some injures, a broken arm and of course they all suffered some bruises and do not know about the jeep. They can just thank their lucky stars that it wasn’t any worse. It created some excitement for a time with all the emergency vehicles that came out to help. It is always wise to not try to cross when the water is over the road at that particular low crossing coming from the park and the fishing camps. It was reported that all the camps and the park was packed with people. It is Spring Break and most of the area schools have extended it for at least another week or even more. It is safer for people to be camping out, than to be going to some amusement park that would be crowded with people from all over.

The Bend Methodist church had a different type of service this past Sunday. The minister handed out copies of his sermon so that no one was exposed to anything, but did hold a service for the ones that wanted to stay. Everyone is trying their level best to not be exposed or to expose anyone. This is a small community, but you just never know when someone might have come in contact with or exposed to the virus.

Jack Danials is spending some time at his place on the river at the Smith Ranch. Some family members from San Angelo area are with him and have reported that he is resting without any pain. It was reported that the doctors have given Jack some pain medicine to keep him comfortable. Keep Jack and Lanell and his family in your prayers in his fight against cancer.

Shirley Meischen has been in and out of the hospital and it was reported that she is recovering at home this week. Keep both Jerome and Shirley in your prayers.

Bonnie Millican reported that during one of the storms this past week her computer was hit by lightening and is out of commission and due to the virus it is next to impossible to get someone to come out and fix it.

When your computer goes on the blink it is by far worse than your car going belly up. There is so many times that it is needed. Keeping in touch with loved ones near and far and always used to look up things that you need to know about. Wonder what we did before computers. We wrote letters and used the telephone to keep in touch, that’s what!

There is still a long list of people who need to be kept on your prayer list. Jane Clark, Pete Henniger, Phil B and Winnie Lou McCoury, Earl Ray Sutton, Charlene and Jerry Reavis are some that we know about.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Nolan Hicks who will celebrate a birthday March 27, to Clay Spivey whose birthday is March 30 and that will finish out birthdays and anniversaries for the month of March.
