There have been Volunteer Fire Departments in towns where I have lived at Dresden, Ohio; Millersburg, Ohio; Gratiot, Ohio; and San Saba, Texas. The volunteers were friends and neighbors. Jack Blossman is the Captain of the San Saba Fire Volunteer Fire Department and a member of The Father's House. Jack was the speaker at The Fathers House on Sunday, August 4th, 2019. I took notes and listed five comments.
1. If you don't know how to put fires out, you are in trouble.
2. Our enemy (satan) is setting fires.
3. Do you have a fire to put out?
4. Recognize the enemy— God will disarm them.
5. Time for Christians to recognize what starts fires.
The fires that need to be put out do not have flames but can destroy. They are lies, cheating, stealing, jealousy, wickedness, strife and etc. James 3:5, 6..The Living Bible....So also the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. A great forest can be set on fire by one tiny spark. And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is full of wickedness, and poisons every part of the body. And the tongue is set on fire by hell itself, and can turn our whole lives into a blazing flame of destruction and disaster.
The selection of the winner of the Talent Show was announced five minutes before the close of the two-hour finale Wednesday, September 27th. The winner was a surprise and the first time a team of a man and his dog won the prize. We are in a 'contest' every day of our life. The prize goes to everyone that trusts God, follows the rules of the Bible, and knows how to put out fires.
