My husband Larry made his first trip to Mexico with Victor Maldonado in the 1980's. I went with them on a trip to a remote village that did not have electricity. We came back from the trip, and Larry bought an old windmill, bought new parts and took it down to that village. I have photos of that trip. John Kelley, a member of Abundant Life Ministries at Glenford, Ohio, and Victor are in the photos. On the propeller of the windmill was painted 'cristo salvo' on one side and 'Dios es Amor' on the other side. The photos captured the joy and praise to God for agua (water).
Water is very important. The San Saba community gathered recently at Mill Pond and prayed for rain. The Bible gives an account of how important water is. In the 4th chapter of John (New Scofield Reference Bible) Jesus was tired and thirsty from a long walk in the hot sun, so He asked a woman of Samaria for a drink of water from a well. He said to the woman “Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again; but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst, but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
