Mutton Bustin is a children’s event where young riders who are 7 years old or younger and under 70 lbs hold tight to a running sheep—started appearing in rodeos across the state to introduce kids to the sport in a safe, lighthearted way. This year’s San Saba Pro Rodeo Days Mutton Bustin Event for 2026 will be Friday, August 21st, and Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. The entry fee will be $20 for each child participating. Registration opens at 6 pm each night. Spots are very limited, so families are encouraged to sign up early. Look for the table set near the announcer’s box.
