2020 Texas State Pecan Show held in San Marcos

The Texas State Pecan Show for the 2020 crop year was held in conjunction with the Texas Pecan Growers Association Conference in San Marcos, July 18-21, 2021.

The 2020 state pecan show had 202 entries. Pecans winning awards at the state pecan show represent an important achievement by growers in your county. Menard and Washington Counties had the highest total entries among participating counties with 20 and 17, respectively. Washington County had 12 entries winning awards, and Menard County had 11. The Grand Champion Commercial pecan was entered by Steve Stifflemire, San Saba County; Grand Champion Classic & New pecan was entered by Robert Schuetze, Milam County, and Champion Native Pecan was entered by Sorrells Farms of Comanche County. San Saba County pecan growers brought home three first place awards, one second place and three third place awards for a total of seven awards this year.

The show was judged by Monte Nesbitt and Bill Ree.

Ribbons and plaques will be mailed to each county office as soon as they are available.

Dickie Eckhoff - 1st Place, Mahan

Mebbie Eckhoff - 2nd Place, Comanche

Commercial Division:

Steve Stifflemire - 1st place, Hopi

Dickie Eckhoff - 3rd Place, Choctaw

Steve Stifflemire - 3rd Place, Pawnee

Native Division:

Millican Farms - 3rd Place, Lightest Pecan
