High School Seniors win $11,000 in Capital Farm Credit scholarships

Texas students remain a priority to Capital Farm Credit’s commitment to youth in agriculture. The tradition to award 100 scholarships to students across Texas continues in 2020.

Dear Editor, I really enjoy getting the San Saba News and Star. The last thing I did before leaving San Saba in 2019 was to subscribe to the paper. I have been a resident at Texas Masonic Retirement Center for almost seven years. I have enjoyed receiving my paper every week.

When I was a kid, I was active in 4-H, an organization for kids sponsored by what is now called the Texas AgriLife Extension Service. During my time in 4-H, I raised several 4-H animals, and at one time, I was on the 4-H grass judging team for our county.

This past week we have had some very good rains, and more may be on the way. A total of over seven inches was reported from all the rains up to Monday. It didn't just come down all at once, but it rained over all of last week. The Colorado River is on a rise from all the rain.
