Dear Editor: Voting by mail should replace voting at the polls in it's entirety. The two institutions that can definitely be trusted is the County Board of Elections and the United States Postal Service.

30 days left to be counted in the 2020 Census

Now is the time to be counted in the 2020 Census! Data collection will end on September 30, and the U.S. Census Bureau is encouraging everyone in Central Texas to respond between now and the deadline of September 30. A complete and accurate count is vital to the state of Texas.

The Richland Springs Report

All the big rains have circled around the San Saba and Richland Springs area, but we have had a few tenths to water our trees. I am looking for one of those four-inch rains. I fear we are going to lose many more trees this winter. They just have no strength left to hold on to life.

There are many prayers going out for rain in the area. Some friends are already selling off cows and putting out hay. Those are not good signs for the beginning of September. Everywhere you go in the area, large trees are losing their leaves that have already turned brown.
