I was pleased to see the Christmas event had a good turnout. There was an excellent group of vendors, and from the faces I saw, some happy shoppers. I bought some unique goat’s milk soaps, a pair of Coyote earrings compliments of Maxine Robbins, and a hat and unique ornament from the Kubin family. If you didn’t get to try the eggnog flavor of milk from Skelton’s Hardware, you missed out on a treat. Spiral Horn was represented by the Hedley’s. There were many others there offering homemade pies, cakes, jellies, and jewelry. I didn’t stay for lunch, but I’m told it was all good. Thank you to the committee members who put this unique small-town event together; thanks also to the Feedlot for opening their doors to let vendors come in out of the beautiful but cold rain. I didn’t have enough cash on me to purchase some of the beautiful mesquite gifts made by the Stratton’s. Those coasters will make someone a great Christmas gift.

I spent a few moments with Tana Lusty. We old time military mothers must let new military mothers know that we understand the issues that come with a child far from home and in harm’s way. The news was good. Hutton’s arm is doing much better, and hopefully he will get some leave to come home and hug his mom. I know we moms can’t fix anything; that’s God’s domain. But we sure feel better when they are close enough to hug. Even with my son serving 28 years in the Air Force, my heart worried when he was deployed. It gives moms a tremendous reason to spend time in prayer. Please keep all the military moms and families in your prayers.

We will have Monday Church this coming Monday the 7th.

I apologize for not having it on the 30th, but we wanted to make sure everyone was good after Thanksgiving visits. We have a great lineup of activities for the month of December. School lets out on the 18th, so we will only have two Mondays. We intend to have the best time ever as we get ready for Christmas.

The rain totals were varied around the area. But no matter how much you received, it was a blessing. I hope we get another two or three inches before this storm passes. I am not looking forward to this summer; I dread seeing the number of large trees that will not have survived this drought.

I trust everyone had a wonderful week at home. I also hope everyone maintained health safety measures. We are seeing a spike in COVID cases, partially due to the change in weather, and partially because we have been fortunate to have very few cases. The next week or two will be interesting; I sincerely hope we have a decrease in cases, not an increase. Stay safe and healthy.

Over 1,300 people tuned into San Saba radio on Friday night. What a blessing that is to all the people who can’t travel.

What an awesome game. Despite the fact our boys are beat up and weary, they played with the spirit and determination of champions.

Repeatedly, we heard Chase Gossett’s name called. Jadeyn Bryant and Zane Capps had a magnificent game. Every player stepped up and helped win this game. I was worried during the second half, but my football husband informed me that Coach Rogers was running out the clock to save his weary players. Whatever the reason, we were beautifully coached, and our players answered the call from Coach Burkhart and Coach Rogers. We advance to meet Strawn in Dublin next Friday. Pam Starr said she didn’t remember playing in Dublin, but I do. The ladies who rode with me do also. I missed the turn into Dublin because of the new loop. We ended up following the GPS that took us through numerous back roads and even down a dirt road to get there. We were just a little late, but we made it. I have no sense of direction.

Fortunately, I never get upset, I just find a way to get to my destination. I learned to laugh at myself long ago. So, good luck to our young men, and the TV world will see how great our fans can be.

Praise God for the rain we received on Saturday.

Please pray for the elections, for our President and Congress. Lift up our medical workers who are feeling the pressure of increased cases, and pray for our police officers and their families. Reach out to friends you know who need company and share some love with the lonely ones around you. Please pray for the Bob Johnson family and the Gary Pierce family. Most of all, pray for our precious troops and their families. Have a great week everyone.
