I have dark clouds surrounding me. I hope we get some rain out of them. The wind has managed to empty both my bird feeders.
I’ve managed to empty a large bag of bird seed in the last two weeks. I guess when I go into the doctor’s office, I’ll stop and buy some. My on again, off again cough has come to stay for a while. I though with the change in weather I would get well, but that is not the case. Glory be, it just started raining.
Spring sports are in full swing. The gold students are on the course, the softball girls are on the field, and the track athletes are gearing up for a short and furious season. I forgot the tennis group is also on the court. Keep you eyes peeled for game news.
I need to inform all who are interested that the RSPS meetings have been changed to Tuesday night not Monday. We voted on that last meeting. Our goal was to make sure Mayor Pearce could attend our meet-ings. The waterboard meetings were changed to Monday which made his attendance impossible. He is a terribly busy man. Mrs. Crump will post that notice in her next column.
This coming week is Spring Break for Richland Springs. It feels early, but I know it’s not.
Easter seems to be quite some time away. It’s not until the end of April. My favorite annoyance is also coming up, daylight savings time. I wish they would pick a time and stay with it.
The RSPS did not get a grant for the roofing repairs, but we are hopeful that we can resubmit and use the money for the interior renovations. This means we will have a loan payment to make each month, but we can do it. I’m very thankful to all the community members who have sent generous donations towards the bank repairs. We will get this project done.
The sun is sinking in the west, one big ball of orange, and the rain is galling on my roof. Obviously, this is a localized shower. Whatever it may be, I will take every drop.
We need prayer for Ukraine and the war. I’m sure the issues that we saw live on national television will resolve themselves, but it was quite a surprise. Please pray for peace around the world, patience while the new Congress and President work out issues and pray for rain in our area. Our family is happy with the cancer free report we received for my son-in-law Mark, but others are still battling. Peggy McKee went to be with the Lord. Please pray for her family. We are also praying for the Ledbetter extended family. One of the pilots they use in their business was killed in a helicopter crash in Uvalde.
I’m headed back to the couch and blanket; I guess I won't get to go fabric shopping with my sweet Graceful Quilters tomorrow. Have a wonderful week, everyone.
