Hello, my dearest San Saba loves. I don’t know if all of you know this, but dachshunds were bred to hunt badgers. We are fearless, tenacious, and one hundred times braver than our small stature. Well, stand aside world, cause this week, I am rat hunting!
My stupid nemesis, the grey cat, has to be the most ridiculous animal on the planet! Mom and I were sitting out on the front porch the other morning, and the garbage truck had just come by. That silly cat jumps up on the large can across the street and right into it! Mom started laughing, looks at me and asks, “do you think I should walk over to make sure he is able to get out?” I told her.. “heck no! Maybe the garbage men will come back around and take him where he actually belongs!” Mom said the most ridiculous thing ever next… “you would miss him, Lenny!”
Have you ever wished you were magic? Lately I have kinda been wishing that because mom struggles so much because of her heart. You would think a heart with so much love in it could only be strong and going great, but hers is worse than a moth eaten sweater! She takes so many meds she rests often, but it seems to be a lot worse lately. She told me I make it so very much better, but I really don’t know if that is true. Then I see how she looks at me. I saw her look at the beach in Galveston the same way, so maybe I do help.
I hope each of you have something that fills your heart with wonder, makes your eyes sparkle with pure love! I hope you know how much mom and I think about you and wish the best for you!
Love, Lenny
