Hello there, dearest San Saba friends, and how has the past week treated you? I would like to say congratulations to all the many who had their college graduations and their families who proudly shared in the experience! I smile when I think about college graduations because mom was like fourteen years older than most of the other graduates in her class in each of the ceremonies she had.
The mom cat has found other accommodations for her kittens, and now the finches are getting into daily fights with neighboring finches over their nest! Their babies are huge, flapping their wings and about to fly! It seems I am the only calm animal mom has anything to do with. I hug her often and tell her not to take it personally.
The other day during the storm, lightning struck, we heard a loud pop, we lost electricity for a moment and when it came back on, we could not get our internet to work. Mom is intelligent, however, an electrician she is not, but she knew the television worked, saw the that the router was on, so surmised it must be the extension chord box. Well, folks, the silly woman was right! The popping sound had been that being blown! We would really prefer lightning not hit that closely!
I have a new favorite food… oatmeal with a bit of peanut butter mixed in it. What a delicious combination of stick to dachshund ribs yumminess with a touch of sweetness! In addition, mom has been making me hamburger, and I told her to start expecting me to moo because I really love hamburger! Okay, I get it, I am a dachshund, the truth is I pretty much love food!
Mom did a huge painting and yes, it is as weird as all the others she does. She said the other day she wants to work on it more and I asked if she was going to transform it to recognizable? She was not swayed by the question and replied…“what fun would that be?” And the woman wonders why I go over the edge at times?
As we head toward summer, dear ones, my wish for each of you is you find that child inside you that loves splashing in the pool, sliding down the slide into the sand, riding a bike with friends and having sandwiches for lunch. It is never too late, you are never too old to find joy in what is simple in life. Love… Lenny
