Hello, dearest San Saba friends, and I hope each of you are doing well. This past week was eventful for our little town. We live near the fire station, and on Saturday I thought our street had turned into a freeway! We saw the cutest thing: parents walking their two children in a double stroller! Of course, I was terribly rude and barked, but mom corrected my uncivil behavior immediately!
Guess what?? I have kittens!! Well, they are in the backyard next door, but I go out to tell them good morning every day and watch them play! Yes, I know, cats and I do not get along, but these are babies and smaller than my head! I hate to admit it, but they are adorable and funny. There are four of them, and a junk pile is their home. They play fight each other and tumble around! I get joy out of watching them! Who knows, those little guys may give me a new perspective on cats!
You know, sometimes I think I would like a companion puppy, a friend to play with, but then I realize it would mean sharing mom, and I realize what a stupid idea it is. Mom belongs to me and only me, and there is no room for sharing. Perhaps if I want another dachshund in my life I will ask Mandy Hogue Finch to crochet me one!
Last week I thought someone was throwing stuff at the house, but mom told me it was hail. I was on her lap and looked up at her incredibly shocked because I thought she meant we had been sent to the bad place!! I think she realized my fear because she hugged me tight, laughed and said…no, sweetie, it's frozen rain hitting the house! Boy was I relieved!!
I sure hope each of you have an incredible week! We think about you, wish you such good things, and most of all… love you!
Love, Lenny
