Lenny's Life Lessons

Hey there, wonderful San Saba loves! We sure hope life has been treating you well. Mom and I both have been suffering with horrible allergies, and all this wind has made them even worse. Mandy Houge Finch was visiting the other day, and I was sitting on her lap and just about sneezed my dachshund nose off! Mandy laughed because she had never heard a dog sneeze like that, but I do it all the time!

Mom is back to painting so now there is one more thing to divert her attention away from me. I am beginning to wonder if moving in to a bigger house was such a good idea. The woman is constantly doing things besides doting on me, and I find it irritating. Am I spoiled?? That would be unequivocal yes and with no apologies!

We have birds that have taken up residence on our porch! They are building a nest and I love watching them. Mom fenced in the entire front porch for me, and I like to call it my nosey dachshund lookout. I bark at all the cats, scream bark at everyone riding bikes and anyone walking in front of my house. I love when the young man across the street plays basketball in his yard. He is wonderful! He and mom talk all the time, and he is a really nice kid!

Mom celebrated a birthday on March 19th, and I had so much fun reminding her she was 73 and now 70 years older than me. In celebration, I drank a bunch of her coffee and ran around the house like a crazed dachshund!! Hey, it isn’t my fault she gets up to do something and forgets to move her coffee cup out of my reach!

Mom was so saddened to hear of the death of Alice Smith. She told me Alice and Larry were dear friends of hers when mom lived here before. Alice was a beautiful and loving soul and will be greatly missed.

I would like to thank Barbara from Lowe’s for coming over to visit us and spending time hugging on me! She sure made this dachshund feel special and loved!

Mom and I hope each of you have a wonderful week! We love you so very much and wish such good things for you!

Love, Lenny
