Hello, sweet San Saba friends, and no, I did not disappear from the face of the earth for two weeks. Mom and I moved across town, and I still haven’t located which bin my tail was packed in! I found my paws easily enough, put one on backwards, walked in circles for 15 minutes before I realized what the problem was! When I say mom is an over zealous and organized mover, just trust me! What I really hate about moving is what you do at one place, you have to turn around and undo at the other place! Mom looks frazzled, frantic, and quite frankly freaky!
The great thing, however, I now have a ‘real’ house! I can actually run from room to room and play hide and seek with mom! I have a back yard and FogHorn Leghorn lives next door and a young girl with a lovely big dog just moved in behind us! I love it so much and so does mom! Oh, and mom has a garage where she can do her painting and an office where she can write her novels; yep, it is a real home for us!
You know how at our other place I got in trouble for eating pecans? Guess what we have in our yard here… acorns! Well wouldn’t ya know it, they are toxic to dogs, cause kidney and liver failure! Do trees hate dogs? Do they enjoy dropping things on the ground attractive to us that make us ill? That is just mean! Needless to say, mom follows me around this yard just as closely as she did at the other house which I find just as irritating.
Moving has had a strange effect on mom; we actually took a nap in the middle of the day! I guess when you work nonstop for two weeks straight your body gets tired, specially when it is ancient. No, she won’t mind me saying that; she said it just the other day… “Lenny, I feel ancient.” Hey, truth is truth, and March is her birthday month.
Well, speaking of tired, I better get a little nap before I search for my tail again. I am tired of looking ridiculous. I know it has to be here somewhere! I love you so very much!
Love, Lenny
