We're right in the middle of the dog days of summer, and while the Texas heat is certainly making itself known, we've been blessed with enough rain to keep the countryside looking greener than usual for this time of year. Even so, you can tell summer is beginning to take its toll as the pastures and roadsides are slowly starting to brown. Every rain shower is a welcome blessing, and we're thankful for every drop the Lord sends our way.
The Graceful Quilters are once again gathered for their monthly quilting marathon at First Baptist Church this past Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. This wonderful group began back in 2005, and more than 20 years later, these faithful ladies are still stitching together beautiful quilts while sharing laughter, friendship, and encouragement. It's amazing how much more than quilts are made during those days—lasting friendships, cherished memories, and a spirit of Christian fellowship continue to be woven together one stitch at a time.
As always, let's remember those in our community who are facing illness, recovering from surgery, or carrying heavy burdens. A kind word, a visit, a card, or simply lifting someone up in prayer can make a tremendous difference. We also continue to pray for our nation, for our leaders, for our military families— including those serving far from home—and that God will grant us wisdom, strength, and hearts that seek His guidance each day.
