From the July 26, 1951 issue of the San Saba News–A large number of people enjoyed free swimming Saturday at the re-opening of the Risien Swimming pool. Although the pool and grounds still have work to be completed everyone seemed to enjoy the waters of the fresh spring that flows into the pool. Mrs. Margaret Hopkins is the pool manager. Admission of 10 and 25 cents will be charged all swimmers. The pool will remain open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Electric lights will light the pool for those who want to swim after dark. Bath houses have been built, roads have been repaired, a diving board and a trolley have been built at the pool with other work such as a lighting system still being worked on. The work that has not been completed is expected to be finished this week-end.
