We Have Hope!

We are at a very different ime than anything we have ver experienced in our country r the world (in our lifetimes). he coronavirus (COVID-19) as touched the lives of every erson living on the earth. This irus is costing trillions of dolars in our country alone. Many re without the income needed o sustain their households. Jobs ave been eliminated, some ave had their hours reduced nd they are finding it difficult o live. Whole cities have closed own. Fredericksburg, to the outh of us, has empty streets here it is difficult to usually et a parking place.

The main thing that is being old at this time to prevent this s isolation. It has helped reduce he spread, I’m sure. (My daugher who works in the banking ndustry, (an essential business) n the Houston area was elated hat it only took her 30 minutes o get to work instead of the over n hour it usually takes.)

I wonder what it would be ike if we were to avoid sin like e have the coronavirus? Sadly, e cannot totally avoid it and solating ourselves will not be n option either.

Fortunately we have an anwer to the sin problem. Unlike he virus, which has no known ure at the present, our God in heaven has provided the cure. The cost was the greatest that could ever be given—the death of his “only begotten Son”, Jesus Christ (John 3:16).

When I am willing to surrender my life to Jesus I can be assured of His forgiveness. And, because I am washed in His blood, I do not have to be afraid. Why? Because I have hope of life with Him after this life is over.

If you’re not following Jesus today, do what the New Testament tells you to do. What does it tell us? To believe in Jesus, repent of your sins, confess Jesus and be immersed (baptized) to be saved. (John 8:24; Luke 13:3,5; Acts 8:37; Acts 2:38). After doing these things we must live faithfully (Revelation 2:10). This will then give you the true hope that is needed during these trying times.

Everyone look to God at this time. Trust in Him. Obey Him. Live each day for Him. And know that He cares for you. “Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 (NASB)
