The March 21st issue of this column listed some comments my dear friend Linda Purtee (died 2013) wrote in her Bible. Here are some more comments by this wonderful special friend of many in Ohio and Texas.
My ship has turned and it's headed for the open sea!... eternity?
To my children & Pete: (Linda and many others called her husband Samuel Purtee a nickname, 'Pete') I was alone when I saw the mountain, the sunrise, the sunset, the rainbows. But in my heart you were always with me.... Linda Purtee 2012 We need no final authority among us. We need only unity.
It's better to light one candle than to curse the darkness.
The only sure thing we have is 'this moment'.
Step forth into the light and see the eye of your heart.
A journey does not become great only because of what lies at the journey's end. The journey itself, each step that you take, offers opportunity for greatness. For none of us, not even those who see beyond, truly know where one journey ends and another begins. (step lightly on your path) Sometimes we can't wait to hear what we're going to say next.
