Richland Springs High School cast their UIL competition One Act Play for 2020 recently. The play is Violet Sharp by William Cameron. Violet Sharp was a maid for Mrs. Charles Lindbergh’s mother, and she was accused of kidnapping the Lindbergh baby in 1932. The play is a true story.
The cast includes Gracie Ashworth, senior, who plays the female lead, Violet Sharp, a maid and Chase Gossett, junior, who plays the male lead, Captain Harry Walsh of the New Jersey Police. Mr. and Mrs. Lindbergh are played respectively by Josiah Beam, senior, and Brynli Chandler, sophomore. Colonel Norman Schwarzkopf, SR is played by Jeremiah Usery, sophomore. Del, a reporter, is played by James Carlisle, a junior, and Sgt. John McGrath is played by Matthew Ridgon, a junior. Laura Hughes, a secretary, is played by Piper Moats, a sophomore while the nurse is portrayed by Ryleigh Bryant, 8th grader. Lanie Norris takes on two roles as the nursemaid for baby Lindbergh, Betty Gow, and the role of Edna, Violet Sharp’s sister and a maid.
