Last week our Indians took on Lometa in an unexpected home game. Lometa’s field was flooded, so we hosted the Thursday night game. The game started out with some back and forth between the Indians and the visitors. Lometa scored quickly with a responding touchdown from Tristian Arkansas. Lometa wouldn’t allow the Indians to gain the lead though, scoring a series of touchdowns of their own. The Indians brought the score to 12-45 with a touchdown pass from Isaac Graves to Arkansas, but that is where the score ended, leaving the Indians with a loss. The varsity team will play at home again next week against Sidney Friday night. The junior high team will kick off their season in Sidney Thursday evening at 6 p.m. Good luck this week, Indians!

In our monthly PTC meeting last week, we discussed that the Fall Festival probably will not be able to happen traditionally. The idea was tossed around that we might still try to do an online Silent Auction to raise funds for PTC. We are welcome to ideas though, so if you have another fundraising idea, please contact me (Kari Owen, kowen@cherokeeisd.net).

Don’t forget, we DO have school this Friday, September 11th. The next week we will be back on our normal schedule.

Progress reports came home last week. Please use these as a starting place for communication with your students and/ or their teachers. You can also always check grades via the parent portal. Please contact Sherrie in the office if you need your student’s portal ID.

Have a great week!
