School is already in the 3rd six-week grading period. Students and parents and staff are busy with all phases of the educational process from athletics, academics, Ag stock shows, etc.… The Thanksgiving holiday will soon be upon us. The annual Thanksgiving meal at the Cafeteria is scheduled for Thursday, November 19. Due to continuing COVID protocols, the Annual Thanksgiving meal is only for staff and students this year. Students and staff release for the Thanksgiving Holiday on Friday, November 20.

Veterans Day is Wednesday, November 11. This is the day to honor all veterans who have served in military service for our country. America is “Home of the Free, Because of the Brave.” Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our country!

COVID case updates from Marsha Hardy, Emergency Management Coordinator for San Saba County, reveal 27 active cases in San Saba County. There are now five deaths due to COVID in San Saba County. With each update to schools, Marsha Hardy includes this message: “Simply: wash your hands, wear your mask, pay attention to your surroundings and, mostly, be kind!” We are fortunate to be in Richland Springs!

Election Day has passed. The Richland Springs ISD bond failed with 345 Against and 119 For. Thanks to everyone who voted.

The varsity Coyotes are now undefeated District 16 champions. The Richland Springs Coyotes have now been District football champs for the 19th year in a row. Quite an accomplishment! Congratulations to Coach Burkhart and Coach Rogers on another successful regular season. The playoff bracket pairs up the District 16 winner against the District 15 runner-up. The District 15 runner-up is Blanket. Richland Springs will play Blanket at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, November 13, at Zephyr ISD stadium. Richland Springs will sit on the home side. There are no restrictions on the number of fans that may enter the stadium. Spectators must wear a mask to have access to the game. If you can’t make it to the game, the Coyote varsity games will be livestreamed.

Get your noisemakers ready, get your warm coat out of the closet, gas up the vehicles, and get ready to hit the road and cheer the Coyotes all the way to another State Championship!
