Stephen Frank Busby Jr., age 92, of Brownwood, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 3, 2020, in Comanche. Stephen Frank Busby Jr.

Stephen Frank Busby Jr. was born on July 24, 1927, to Stephen Frank Busby Sr. and Maude (Clayton) Busby in Tarrant County, Texas. The Busby family moved to San Saba county when Frank was a small child, and he attended school in San Saba. He enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the 23rd Squadron Air Service Group. He was honorably discharged on May 14, 1947.

Upon returning to San Saba, he met and married Ima Jean Karnes and began a career in the farming industry. After several years, they were blessed with a son, Jerry, and then a daughter, Ann. He became the ranch manager for the Leonard Brothers San Saba Ranch. In 1975, Frank and Ima Jean moved to Brownwood. There, he worked for many years at Ledsome Machine and Welding Company until he retired.

Frank loved his family and enjoyed gatherings with relatives and friends. Whether it was to hunt, fish, make homemade ice cream and have a fish fry, or just have a Saturday night visit, Frank always enjoyed socializing. He was overjoyed when grandkids and greatgrandkids started arriving, and always looked forward to their visits.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Ima Jean Busby; his parents; six sisters: Kathlyn Behrens, Georgia Lou Taylor, Ruth Gage, Gladys Berkeley, Betty Lewis Hicks and Juanita Mosby.

Frank is survived by his son, Jerry Busby and wife, Patricia; his daughter, Ann Busby Burgess and partner, Dwayne Chupp; one sister, Marquita Baker; granddaughters: Shawnda Scitern and husband, Stephen; Ginger Burgess and husband, Stryker; Leanne Holley and husband, Marcus; Michelle Orton and husband, Jared; and Sonya Herrera and husband, Marco; great-grandchildren: Garrett Scitern and wife, Brianna; Colton Scitern, Bryson and Brayden Herrera, Jacob and Jesse Orton; Lilly, King, Atlas, and Pallas Holley; Cashton Burgess and Raylan Spencer. Other survivors include a large number of nieces and nephews that have loving memories of Uncle Frank.

Graveside services for Frank were held Monday, July 6th at Eastlawn Memorial Park with Bill Slaymaker officiating. Visitation was held prior to services from 1 to 2 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home.
