Roy Lon Smith

Roy Lon Smith, 78, of Richland Springs passed away Monday, August 8, 2020, at his residence in Richland Springs.

Mr. Smith was born September 11, 1941, in Richland Springs to George and Vera (Cheek) Smith. He was one of 11 children. Later, Roy married Wanda Ruth Deeds in Holt, Texas. Roy Lon and Wanda moved to California and later to Dallas where they lived many years. When Wanda retired, they returned to Richland Springs.

Roy Lon had a great love for combining; each year he traveled around Texas working. He enjoyed raising sheep and goats, and he loved his dog and tending his garden and trees.

Roy Lon is survived by five daughters: Belinda Noble and husband, Jackie, of Forney; Mary Rolison and husband, Thomas, of Whitesboro; Wanda Faye Smith of Royce City, Texas; Denise Martin and husband, Mike, of Forney; Shelia Miller and husband, Roy, of Gun Barrel City along with 13 grandchildren and 19 greatgrandchildren.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda, his parents, and eight siblings.

Chapel Services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel (Mask Required); Bro. Barry Fikes will officiate. Interment will follow at Richland Springs Cemetery.

Visitation (Mask Required) will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba prior to the service.
