Doris Taylor

Doris Taylor, age 92, of Pontotoc, Texas passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 surrounded by her family at her ranch. Doris was born in Lampasas, Texas on May 14, 1928 to William McNeil and Annie Robbins.

She was raised in Lometa, Texas where she attended and graduated high school in 1946. She attended Chadwick and Johnson Business College where she earned a degree.

Doris then married W.H. (Cat) Taylor Jr. who she met in San Saba at The First Presbyterian Church where they later married. She was a member of the church and served in many capacities over the years.

She was involved in The Order of The Eastern Star and a member of The San Saba County Volunteer E.M.S. Doris was also very involved in the school her children attended. She loved her family and was a great cook and gardener.

Doris is survived by her three sons: Harrison Taylor and wife, Marcia, of Fredricksburg, Texas; Henry Taylor III and wife, Linda, of Pontotoc, Texas; James Taylor and wife, Peggy, of Sacramento, California; one daughter, Gwytha Duncan and husband, Dickie; grandchildren: Coquise and husband, Russ, of Sacramento, CA; Price Taylor, Michelle and husband, Mike; Curtis Duncan; five step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Elva McNeil Sutton; and one brother, James Curtis McNeil.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, Andy Taylor, and one sister, Christina McNeil.
