The San Saba Community Garden is an inviting oasis on East Storey Street one block from our popular Mill Pond Park beach area. Readily accessible for wheel chairs, visitors can travel on a granite gravel path to the pergola with flagstone floor and tables with benches, perfect for picnicking, or a small gathering.

Native trees and plants shade the surroundings providing a haven for birds, butterflies, bees, and even snails! Outlying grassy areas can be found north of the garden along the creek, a perfect spot for tossing a football, playing a bit of Frisbee, or setting up a Cornhole game.

The garden is a part of the Senior Citizens Center, but is free to use by the public. It was established a few years ago by the SS Garden Club, Master Gardener Class, San Saba Bird and Nature Club, Keep San Saba Beautiful Commission, and the City of San Saba. Some of these organizations have recently cleaned up the area and invite you to come and enjoy it in this nice cool Fall weather!
