Our Life is Like a Junk Drawer...

When cleaning out a junk drawer, the most effective (though rarely used) method is asking the honest question about each item: "Is this actually something that I use, and am not holding onto just because I can't bear to throw it away?" If done honestly, you are left with a few very useful things that are much easier to access, as well as room for additional genuinely useful things. The stress is gone if you can bear to part with all the useless junk.

Cleaning out our life is almost exactly the same, except the question that we should ask is this: "Does this thing/relationship/activity Glorify God?" Like the junk drawer, done honestly, you are left with a few very useful things that are much easier to access, as well as room for additional genuinely useful things. The stress is gone if you can bear to part with all the useless junk.

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

“Worthy are you, Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things; because of your will they came to be and were created.” (Revelation 4:11)
