Message from Dr. Craig Whiting:

In a region like San Saba without large, congested areas, the COVID virus spreads much as you might expect popping up around the county without an obvious pattern. We have seen cases from school age to grandparents, from one end of the county to the other. This week, we have seen a small rise in the number of cases; we have 13 active cases in the county, which is the most that we have seen so far in this pandemic. Again, there is not a pattern that I can discern as to age, gender, work status or identifiable contact point for the infection. While it might be expected to see a rise in cases with the start of the school year, nonetheless there does not seem to be a direct association with school for most of the new cases. The precautions that the schools have taken to protect students and staff alike seem to be working well to prevent a serious outbreak, and I offer my thanks to the hard work that the school administration and staff have put into keeping that environment safe.

As always, show your care for your fellow Texans and wear a mask when you are out in public.
