Tuesday, July 30th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the School Cafeteria –

• Parent/guardian and student are required to be present to sign paperwork.

– All paperwork must be completed and signed before the start of the school year.

Coyote Pride

The Richland Springs cafetorium hosted many events this spring. Events included the UIL academic awards, One Act Play presentation, sports banquet, and 8th grade graduation. Thanks to all who came and supported students at these events.

The Board of Trustees and administrators attended the Texas Association of School Boards’ Summer Leadership Institute in San Antonio in June. School board members and administrators received valuable training and enjoyed the beautiful sights in San Antonio.

Bowden earns all-star MVP honors, headed to collegiate challenge

Setting a goal of being MVP of an all-star football game is risky. There are too many uncontrollable variables like playing time and dependence on teammates you’ve never played with.

Summertime all-star games are often sloppy because they occur 7-8 months since most of the players have donned pads and played. Offensive players have just a few days to adjust to their teammates, much less a scheme or any kind of timing or rhythm.

San Saba JLD (40-7) traveled to Tuscola, Texas on Friday, June 7th, to take part in the Junior High Girls division of the 2019 South Taylor Shoot-Out and to Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas on Saturday, June 22nd, to take part in the 7th Grade Girls division of the 2019 Magic 5 Star Summer Showcase.

Courtnee Cash and Ashlynn Cash named NHSCA 2019 High School Academic All-Americans

The National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA) is proud to announce the 2019 High School Academic All-Americans for the 2018-2019 school year. This marks the 26th year in which the NHSCA has honored those who triumph in and out of the classroom.

This year's selection totals 134 Academic All-Americans. These student-athletes hail from 36 states. This year's honorees excel in 13 different sports. The total breakdown is as follows: 10 freshman, 27 sophomores, 42 juniors and 55 seniors.

2019 ALL STATE TRACK AND FIELD

These five ladies pictured above earned All-State Track and Field honors from the Texas Girls Coaches Association for their outstanding track seasons. Kylee Eckermann was also selected to the TGCA All-Star team and will be a part of the track demonstration at the TGCA clinic in July. All five of these young ladies not only competed at the State Track Meet, but were also able to bring home medals.

JLD dominates defensively at the 2019 San Angelo Hoops - End of School Summer Basketball Tournament

The San Saba Junior Lady Dillos (32-6) held each opponent to an average of 5 points per game on Saturday, June 1st, at Bronte, Texas to run away with the 2019 San Angelo Hoops - End of School Summer Basketball Tournament championship.

JLD opened up tournament play against Odessa. JLD held Odessa to just 2 points in the first half for an 18-2 halftime lead, enroute to a 26-7 opening round win.

Rihanna Morgan led all scorers with 7 points followed by Aaliyah Patino and Landri McCombs with 6 points each, Cinzlea Stanton with 3 points, and Ema Argote and Jadyn Fleming with 2 points each. JLD was 75% from the free throw line making 9 out of 12 from the charity stripe.

Linzey Maxcey to play in TABC Girls All Star Game

Linzey Maxcey, the daughter of Reagan and Marcie Maxcey and a senior at San Saba High School, was recently selected to play in the TABC Girls All Star Game.

The game will be played in San Antonio on May 17, 2019. Only 40 girls from the entire state of Texas, in any division, were selected to play in the All Star Games. Twenty girls in a combination of divisions (1A to 4A) were selected to compete in this game. Divisions 5A and 6A will play in a separate game.

Junior Lady Dillos defend title at 2nd Annual Next Level Invitational

After winning the inaugural Next Level Invitational in 2018, San Saba 7th/8th JLD (8-1) traveled to Marble Falls, Texas on Saturday May 27th to defend their title. JLD opened tournament play against the Killeen Central Texas Soldiers. An 8-point first half by Olivia Lebow would enable JLD to a 20-4 halftime lead on their way to a 37-20 win.

Scoring for JLD was Lexy Amthor with 14 points, Lebow with 11 points, Madison Shahan 6 points, Jenna Lambert 4 points, and Lainey Jernigan with 2 points.
