San Saba School Spotlights

The teacher appraisal system will change from PDAS to TTESS during the 2016-2017 school. According to Chapter 150 of the Commissioner’s Rules Concerning Educator Appraisal all school districts have two choices in selecting a method to appraise teachers: a teacher appraisal system recommended by the commissioner of education or a local teacher appraisal system.

Fall Master Gardener classes planned

Submitted by Vicky Sutherland

I recently saw a Facebook post that said: "Only in Texas can you go from a burn ban to a no wake zone in less than 24 hours." And we've all heard this many times: "If you don't like the weather wait a minute." These extremes pose a challenge for gardeners in Texas. Many times we have to figure out how to deal with parched gardens and boggy soil in the same week. What plants are best suited to our climate and how do we deal with the pests and disease that accompany the drastic weather changes we experience? If you'd like to learn more about solutions to these and other gardening challenges and meet other gardeners in our area, you might enjoy taking a Master Gardener class.
