Kay Francis Farquhar Keele

Kay was born January 9, 1936 at Rollins-Brook Hospital in Lampasas, Texas. She passed away on January 8, 2019, in Lampasas, one day short of her 83rd birthday, leaving a number of devastated family and friends. She was the second of five children born to Cecil Edward Farquhar and Geneva Gladys Barrett Farquhar who were both descendants of pioneers in the area.

She was married to H.W. Junior Keele on April 8, 1960 in San Saba, Texas, her home at the time of her passing. They met at a country dance at Izora schoolhouse in Lampasas County. Her Uncle Red Barrett had a band and he introduced Junior and Kay at that time. Kay loved to dance and attended every dance she could. Kay liked Jimmy Heap and the Melody Masters, and her Uncle's band, The Drifters. She would have danced across Texas if she could. Kay and Junior were the parents of two daughters: Vicki Laine Keele Brown and Stacey Lynn Keele Dame.

Shirley Jean Barber Gray

Shirley Jean Barber Gray, 83, passed away January 13, 2019 in Georgetown, TX. Shirley was born to Harold and Voncile Barber on December 6, 1935 in Lone Grove, Texas.

She fell in love and married her soulmate, Kenneth Don Gray, in Cherokee, TX on May 24, 1952. She was a loving and doting wife and mother and, even though her husband’s career took her to many new places, she always managed to create a loving home filled with laughter for her children and husband.

Shirley also excelled in creating art with her hands. She was well-known for painting pictures, crafting angels, and personalizing gifts for her family and friends. She even went on to open her own art studio, along with her daughter Sherry, where she could hone her skills and give a smile to anyone that happened to benefit from the beauty of her work.

Ronnie S. Gilbert

Ronnie S. Gilbert, 67, of Lometa, TX died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.

He was born November 21, 1951 in Abilene, TX, the son of Lowell B. Gilbert and Marjorie Lee (Isenburg) Gilbert. He moved to Lampasas when he was a sophomore in high school and had remained in the area since. Ronnie was a diesel mechanic by trade, a Licensed to Carry Instructor, woodworker, knifemaker, avid outdoorsman, active in youth mentorship through Royal Rangers, and enjoyed historical pioneer camping and re-enactment. He was an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God, where he served churches throughout Central Texas.

Buster D. Barree

Buster D. Barree age 59 of Meridian, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Meridian, Texas.

Per his wishes he will be cremated.

Buster D. Barree was born on September 26, 1959 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Albert and Mary Harvell Barree. He graduated from San Saba High School in San Saba, Texas. He worked in the construction business most of his life. Buster was a great son, brother and uncle but above all of these he was an amazing father and grandfather. Buster loved being outdoors. His favorite hobby was fishing with Uncle Willie. Buster never complained about anything and was always offering a helping hand. He loved life and enjoyed doing things with his family. He was a genuis when it came to playing cards (he always won). Buster became friends with Carlos Ellis of Meridian and they were like brothers. They always watched wrestling and ball games together. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Willard Linn Moore

Willard Linn Moore, age 86, of Willis, TX, passed away January 6, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Moore, and sister, Mary Beth Moore. Willard is survived by his sisters, Margaret Holcomb and Jeanie Gage; children, Diane Hibler and husband, Keith, and Wayland Moore and wife, Betty; grandchildren, Dwain Hibler and wife, Sheryl; Brandon Moore and wife, Lupe; DeeDee Pearon and husband, Jason; and Eric Moore and wife, Brooke; and numerous great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 9th, at 10:30 a.m. at Smith Memorial Park in Willis, TX. Condolences may be left at www.shmfh.com.

Our sweet and loving mother went to be with her Lord Jesus on December 25, 2018 in Brownwood, Texas. Marjorie Gage was born to Luther Neal and Johnnie Merl Brown on December 6, 1928. Visitation was held on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in San Saba, Texas. Services followed at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment was at San Saba Cemetery.

Elsie Keele

Elsie Keele, 95, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2018. She was born to Allen Dewey Reed and Ada Onie Sims Reed on December 8, 1923 in Killeen, Texas. Her family and friends celebrated her life on December 23, 2018, at Heritage Funeral Home. Services were at 1:00 p.m. Burial was at the San Saba Cemetery immediately following services.

Elsie married Claude Franklin Keele on December 8, 1937. They had two beautiful children: Claude Larry Keele and Judy Faye Keele. Her husband and life-mate passed away in 2001. Elsie was a beautician until she retired in 2013.

Elsie had a passion for life and a deep love for all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had a passion for serving Jesus Christ. She was always ready to serve Christ at The Father’s House in any way she could. Elsie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Robison Cloyd (R.C.) Edmondson

Robison Cloyd (R.C.) Edmondson, 86, of Goldthwaite, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2018, in Round Rock, Texas.

R.C. was born on Jan. 18, 1932, in Mullin, Texas, to William Joseph and Willie Fern (Albright) Edmondson. He married Della Louise Reichert on August 20, 1960.

After graduating from San Saba High School, he attended Tarleton State College for two years and then Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, where he received his degree in agriculture. He spent two years as a pre-flight instructor at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio where he rose to the rank of Captain.

Nancy C. Bannister

Nancy Bannister, age 94, of San Saba went to her eternal home on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in San Saba, Texas. Nancy was born on November 10, 1924 in McKinney, Texas to Orlia Moss and Eryme (Mitchell). She graduated from Bryan High School and married John Bannister of West Columbia, Texas. John, with Nancy at his side, was active in the oil industry for many years both in domestic and international fields. Upon retirement they moved to San Saba, Texas in 1990. They were made to feel right at home with the community from their first day.

Martha Bush

Martha Bush passed away in Brady, on November 23, 2018.

Martha was born to George and Lela (Fussell) Morgan on July 22, 1941 in Cameron, Texas. She married Daymond (Damon) Bush on Decemer 24, 1959 in Rockdale, Texas. They had two girls, Kay Whitney and Vicki Eden.

Martha loved sewing and cooking. She took care of her family, her girls, and her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Daymond (Damon) Bush; two daughters: Kay Whitney and husband John of San Saba and Vicki Eden and husband Mike of San Saba. Five grandchildren: Bret Sealy, Terah Sealy, Mikayla Eden, Carter Eden and Chris Sealy. Three great-granddaughters: Aubrey Smith, McKenna Wilson and Khloe Sealy; one brother, Alvie Lee Morgan; one sister, Wilma Franklin; and one special aunt, Joan Griffith, and husband, Richard, of Round Rock.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
