Oliver C. Young “Manny”, 73, passed away on January 1, 2014 in Temple Texas after a short illness. Manny was born on February 18, 1940 to Leslie and Jewel (Pierce) Young of San Saba, Texas. Manny was a lover of the
seas, he followed in his father’s footsteps, joining the United States Navy after high school and was a Merchant Seaman leaving behind very few bodies of water un- attended, whether it was shallow creeks or rivers in the  state of Texas. He always managed to stop and get a hook wet even if he didn’t have any bait. Amelia Stone Brister, 83, passed away December 3, 2013 at Westwood Nursing and Rehab Center in Springdale, Arkansas. She was born January  5, 1930 in Richland Springs, Texas. Amelia was the daughter of Dr. Ira O. Stone and Agnes Howarth Chadwick. Millie grew up in San Saba, Texas. She graduated from San Saba High School in 1949. While in high school, Millie was a Candy Striper at San Saba Memorial Hospital. Millie married   Roy David Brister on October 7, 1950. They were married 50 years. After leaving San Saba, she lived in Blum, Odem, and Orange Grove, Texas. She sang in the choir, helped with VBS, and enjoyed the Women’s
