Hamrick's Automotive 11th Annual Customer Appreciation event to be held November 7th

Make plans now to attend the highly anticipated Hamrick’s Automotive Center, Inc. & Hamrick’s Parts 4Plus 11th Annual Customer Appreciation. The event will be held Saturday, November 7th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will feature the Gordon Collier Band. There will be free sausage wraps, hot dogs, and drinks. Drawings will be held for Yokohama tires, a rifle, and more.

Richland Springs Elementary building to break ground on October 19

The Richland Springs ISD Board of Trustees are proud to announce the groundbreaking for the new elementary school will be October 19th. The elementary school will be located where the current tennis courts are located. The approximately 14,000 sq. ft. elementary school is a wonderful addition to the campus. The building will consist of eight classrooms, PreK-6th grades. The elementary will also include an elementary science lab, and a spacious library. The library will be much larger than the current library and will be the focal point in the new elementary school.

Commissioners approve interlocal agreements with City of San Saba

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held on Tuesday, September 29th at 9:00 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. Commissioner Rickey Lusty called the court to order and welcomed everyone.   Commissioner Kenley Kroll gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

LAW ENFORCEMENT APPRECIATION

In appreciation for local law enforcement, a short program was held and blue balloons were released when members of the community met at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30th on the lawn of the San Saba County Courthouse. After the release of the balloons, First Baptist Church of San Saba Pastor Sam Crosby offered a prayer and Tony Guidroz read a poem entitled, When God made Police Officers

St. Mary's Catholic Church raising funds for new education center

The parishioners of St. Mary’s are on a mission. They are in the early stages of planning and fundraising for a new religious education center and church hall. St. Mary’s has outgrown the current facility where they hold their religious education classes.

At the San Saba ISD September regular monthly school board meeting the principals from each campus were presented with plaques in the shape of stars to commend the campus staff and students for the number of designations they received on state accountability ratings.

San Saba Volunteer Fire Department takes ownership of new truck

This International 9600 tractor was purchased by the San Saba Volunteer Fire Department from Coastal Transport Co. of San Antonio Texas. Joe A. Morgan, President and Chief Operating Officer of Coastal Transport Co., upon learning of the great need for a tractor to pull a water trailer to rural fires, provided this fire unit at a substantial savings to the SSVFD.

Author Extravaganza at the Llano Library October 3rd

The Author Extravaganza and Fair will be an all-day free literary event set right in the heart of the Hill Country at the Llano Library in Llano, Texas on Saturday, October 3. Featuring two New York Times Best Selling Authors, six authors scheduled for speaking sessions throughout the day, two Writers’ Workshops, more than twenty area authors, and several local organizations providing food and drink sales right on site, this promises to be a wonderful celebration of authors, books, and the love of reading.
