Wedding

A June wedding is planned for Caroline Camille Kinney, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Donald Wild and Mr. Matthew Kinney of New Braunfels; and Colby Dane Mahan, son of Mr. & Mrs. Dane Mahan of San Saba. Caroline is a graduate of Canyon High School and a 2012 graduate of Texas A&M University. She is employed at Hess Corporation in Houston. Colby is a graduate of San Saba High School and a 2010 graduate of Texas A&M University. He is employed at Tex-Trude, Inc. in Channelview. The ceremony will take place in Richmond, Texas.

San Saba Garden Club holds February meeting

A great crowd of San Saba Garden Club members and one guest, Carolyn McDowell, met in the historic Garden Club building in Mill Pond Park on Tuesday afternoon, February 4th, for the monthly meeting. Ladies were welcomed by hostesses Sharon Conyers, Anna Wilson, and Gail Bruner. The talented trio had decorated the clubhouse with tables topped in white cloths covered with flowing red scarves, dainty live primroses nestled in fernlike leaves, flickering candles, lace doilies, hearts confetti, and an assortment of Valentine candies. The tables were set with scrumptious servings of dark rich brownies, red hot candies, and pecan covered ice cream balls. Hostesses offered coffee and red sparkling punch for drink

San Saba’s River City Band has begun a new season

The San Saba River City Band began its new season on the third Monday of January, 2014. Each member is being provided a folder of their own with all new music, some loaned, some donated, and some purchased. The new folders consist of patriotic music, marches, some popular classics and some plain old fun tunes

Pecan Valley Nursing & Rehab Resident of the Month

James Adams' birthday is March 19th. He went to school in San Saba and graduated in 1949. His favorite movies are Westerns and he loves Country music. James' favorite color is dark blue and his favorite food is a good steak, after which, his favorite activity might be a game of dominoes or bingo!

Pierian Study Club Holds New Year’s Meeting

San Saba Sew-N-Sews hold Christmas Party

On Tuesday, December 17th, thirteen ladies caravanned out to LouEtta Cummins' home for the San Saba Sew-N-Sews Christmas party, very thankful for a sunshiny day. LouEtta toured us around her home discussing beautiful
afghans and quilts made by her  mother. We especially enjoyed seeing her organized sewing room
