San Saba County Friends of Animals, San Saba, has joined thousands of animal welfare organizations across North America that list their homeless pets on Petfinder, the online leader of responsible pet adoptions.  Petfinder, the largest database of adoptable animals on the Internet, has been committed to animal welfare and rescue organizations dedicated to the cause since its founding in 1996

LCRA Board approves 2015 business plan

The LCRA Board of Directors on May 21, 2014 approved a $1.07 billion Business Plan for fiscal year 2015 that saves LCRA’s wholesale electric customers $148 million over the fiveyear plan period.  “The FY 2015 Business Plan reflects LCRA’s commitment to exceptional customer service,” General Manager Phil Wilson said. “We listened to our wholesale electric customers and developed a plan that meets their business needs and sets clear

Barboza Triplets turn 30-years-old

Thirty years ago on May 21, 1984 the Barboza Triplets (Joshua, Jonathan, & Jacob) were born at San Saba Memorial Hospital. They were a true blessing and miracle to the Barboza family as the Triplets were born 3 months premature and had to be airlifted to Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas.

It was a source of amusement— for folks outside my family, anyway—when my 27 fellow seniors “honored me” during our final year at Early High School in 1956. I was elected—unanimously, I might add—“most likely to remain left-handed.” I felt a slight sting, my folks frowned and my brother Fred feigned sympathy, laughing about it when out of our hearing

RSHS One Act Play competes at Regional

On Saturday, May 3rd, 2014, the Richland Springs One Act Play, Rabbit Hole, by David Lindsay-Abaire competed at the Regional level at Brenham High School in Brenham. This was the first appearance at the Regional level for a One Act Play from Richland Springs in twentythree years.
