The Spiral Model of Organization

For the past two months, I have been on a mission to purge and organize my household. What does this have to do with creativity and inspiration, the supposed focus of this column? In my book the answer is “everything.” We hear about ‘creative chaos’ and such and I will fully admit that when I am in creative mode I can make messes. But I have had trouble even getting in creative mode to begin with because of the clutter and chaos in my home and workspace.

QVC reigns among the women of Lennox Valley

With all the craziness surrounding Raymond Cooper’s candidacy for mayor and the appointment of Sarah Hyden- Smith at the Methodist Church, it would be easy to get the idea that life was never normal in my hometown. Let me make something clear: I’m sure there were normal days during my teen years. It’s just that I don’t remember any of them.

Got quilts? The San Saba County Quilt Show wants them

By Cathy Ledbetter

This year’s San Saba County Quilt Show will be held Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2 at the Civic Center and downtown venues. The show theme this year is “Roots & Wings.” This is an open show, meaning that quilts will not be judged or juried. Anyone can enter a quilt in the show. We have shown quilts from other states, and will have some from other countries this year. We have several divisions, covering every type and age of quilt plus smaller quilted items such as garments, handbags, pillows, placemats, etc.

Lady preacher's visit upstaged by election

It had been almost three months since the members of Lennox Valley Methodist Church learned their pastor, Rev. Glynn Vickers, was being moved in June of 1998. And it had been four weeks since that fateful moment on May 4 when Diane Curtis, chair of the Methodist Church Pastor/Parish Committee, received the call from the Springfield district superintendent to inform her that Sarah Hyden-Smith was being appointed as the new minister in Lennox Valley.
