Brenda Gay Land

Brenda Gay Land, age 74, of San Saba, Texas, earned her angel wings on March 2, 2020, in Scott and White in Temple, Texas. Brenda was born on September 19, 1945 in San Saba, Texas to William Alexander Maultsby and Sara Maude (Lindsey).

Brenda grew up in San Saba, Texas where she graduated from high school in 1963. She attended beauty school in Brownwood, Texas and spent most of her life working as a beauty operator. Early on in her career, Brenda co-owned Cinderella’s Beauty Shop with her mother, Sara.

She married Odean Land on April 23, 1977, and later went into business opening Land's Headquarters Barber Shop and Beauty Shop.

Brenda had deep faith in the Lord and enjoyed playing the piano for many years at Parkview Baptist Church and New Hope Presbyterian Church. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved her family fiercely.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children – three daughters: Heather Morris and husband, Kody, of San Saba, Texas; Lisa Hubert and husband, Allen, of LaBelle, Texas; and Angie Thompson and husband, Jeff, of Vancouver, Washington; three sons: Alex Means and wife, Adriana, of Salado, Texas; Len Means and wife, Dawn, of Brownwood, Texas; and Kevin Land and wife, Rebecca, of Coleman, Texas; 15 grandchildren: J.D. and Jacob Bourke, Brendon Morris, Logan, Nathan, and Austen Morris; Caitlyn Thompson, Brandon, Jason, Jonathon Means; Cooper and Jordan Means; Danna Boswell and Klint Land; and Angela Sanders; and eight great-grandchildren.

Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Odean Land; one brother, Billy Maultsby; and one sister, Lolly Maultsby.
