Patsy, Granny, Grandma Patsy, was born September 21, 1935 and passed away February 2, 2020 in Round Rock, TX at the age of 84.

While Patsy’s formative years were incredibly tough due to growing up during the Depression Era in Spur, Texas and the Bend Community, she lived an amazingly full life. She spoke of not having shoes or any toys and how painful it was to have to pick cotton as a child. She often reminisced on how special her Aunt Ruth and Grandma Moore were and felt they truly saved her when they drove to Spur, Texas to pick her up and bring her back to the Bend to live.

On September 2, 1954, she married the love of her life, Trenton Hamrick, in White Settlement, Texas. She recently stated this was the happiest day of her entire life and loved him fiercely for over 65 years, even though she says he didn’t hold her hand for 45 of those.

Patsy was incredibly proud of her children: Lynn, Cynthia, Kathy and Jennifer. She loved and doted on her grandchildren: Logan, Larissa and Leslie, and thought the world of her great-grandchildren: Hunter, Emma, Riley and Little Trenton.

Later in life, she and Trenton built a very special bond with Jimmy and Sharon Spivey and their children: Jaycee, Trent and Holt, and loved them all just as much as her own kids.

In their younger years, Trenton and Patsy traveled extensively on tropical vacations. Her life was focused on raising her kids, working at the catalog store in San Saba, and attending every event or activity her children and grandchildren were involved in. Besides her devotion to her family, Patsy enjoyed attending church, weekly catfish dinner with her husband each Friday night, and debating the politics of Ted Cruz with her Democratic grandkids. She spoke her mind, had no filter, and openly shared with us her thoughts ranging from how awful her grandkids’ ripped jeans were, to why Jennifer colors her hair so dark, and why Larissa has so many tattoos. Even with all the criticism, she ended each conversation with, “Granny loves you.”

She is preceded in death by her siblings – Edward and Wanda – who she missed dearly and talked about often.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Home on Wednesday, February, 5, 2020.
