The San Saba County Commissioners’ Court met for a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 21st, in the County Judge’s Chambers. Judge Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m. and welcomed everyone. Commissioner Rickey Lusty gave the invocation and led everyone in the flag pledges.

Dennis Van Beck and Tommy Pulatie, citizens, were present and both posed concerns and questions about monuments, plaques and pictures which have been removed during the courthouse restoration project but have not been returned or rehung since County employees have moved back to the courthouse. Judge Theodosis responded to their queries quickly that David Williams, County Chairman of San Saba County Historical Commission, discovered through the Texas Historical Commission that some of the monuments should be designated to the county’s parks and some to the museum. However, a certain plaque - the 10 Commandments - will be rehung in the courthouse after the courthouse dedication tentatively scheduled in March. Other pictures (such as pictures of judges) will also be hung at that time since the walls are made of plaster and care needs to be taken during the hanging process.
