Betty Joe Ratliff Karnes Dufner Moore passed away on November 17, 2019 at the age of 95. Graveside services will be held at Wallace Creek Cemetery in San Saba, Texas.

Betty Joe was born December 22, 1923 in the community of Pecan Grove in San Saba, Texas to German Jackson Ratliff and Rachel Margaret Edmondson Ratliff. She was the youngest of thirteen children.

She worked for many years as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Victoria, Texas and Austin, Texas. She dearly loved her family, friends, neighbors and wonderful caretakers at Hillview Manor Nursing Center. She was a great cook. Her pecan pies and homemade bread were legendary. Her quick sense of humor and mischievous personality were a joy to everyone who knew her.

Betty Joe is survived by her children: Wilba Joe Karnes and his wife, Patricia; Tommy Jackson Karnes and his wife, Linda; and Betty Fay Dufner Wallace; grandchildren: Tera Karnes and Cheryl Wright; Jana Karnes and her husband, David; Billy Karnes and his wife, Christy; Pam Smith and her husband, David; Cindy Prater and her husband, Tony; Lori Hughes and her husband, Robert; Suzi Wallace and Jeff Wallace; great-grandchildren: Scotty Jones, Heather Jones Whiteley, Shane Jones, Jordon Moreland Smith, Kyle Moreland, Lauren Moreland Wilson, Kody Moreland, Leigha Moreland, Dakota Moreland, Chelsi Karnes, Thomas Gregory Karnes II, Kyli Karnes, Cannon Karnes, Ashley Johnson Faissal, Dalton Johnson, Heather Hughes, Jenna Hughes, Cassidy Smith, Cielo Gonzales and Caelen Gonzales; and great-great-grandchildren: Alaina Whitely, Carlie and Piper Jones, Connor Joe Jones; Zoey, Tori and Daniel Smith; Hailey and Hannah Moreland; and Lucy Bloys.

She was preceded in death by husbands: Wilba Karnes, Fay Dufner and Fayette Moore; grandsons: Thomas Gregory Karnes and Tommy DeWayne Karnes; and great-grandson, Brady Bishop Wallace; and twelve of her brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Wallace Creek Cemetery in San Saba, Texas. A graveside service following the visitation at 2:00 p.m.

Blaylock Funeral Home of San Saba, Texas is in charge of arrangements.
