Dillos clinch a spot in the playoffs – play for the District title next Friday

The freezing cold weather and hard blowing wind didn’t stop San Saba (8-0, 3-0 in district) from soundly defeating Valley Mills (4-4, 1-2 in district), 43-0, last Friday night. Once again, San Saba traveled well as the visitors' stands were overflowing with purple, and even had a couple of fans forced to sit on the home side.

The win secured at least a spot in the playoffs for the Dillos for the 2nd consecutive year. The win also set up a showdown next Friday night at “The Graveyard” against Crawford (6-2, 3-0 in district) for the District championship.

#8 Eli Salinas was the workhorse last Friday against Valley Mills. Salinas ran the ball 16 times for 209 yards (13-yard avg) with 3 rushing and 1 receiving TD. Salinas is now up to 1,290 yards rushing on the season with 21 total touchdowns. #17 Sean O’Keefe rushed for 101 yards on 13 carries (7.7 avg) and rushed for 1 TD and threw 2. For the season, O’Keefe has rushed for 715 with 14 TD’s and thrown for 873 yards and 13 passing TD’s. Logan Glover caught his 8th TD pass of the season as well.
